The 9 Best Shows (Not on Netflix) You Should Be Streaming Right Now

Don’t get us wrong — we’re big fans of Netflix Originals. (Looking at you, Stranger Things and Schitt’s Creek.) But with so many other A+ streaming services stepping up to the plate, we thought we’d mix things up a bit and focus on the hottest new shows outside of the big red one. Enjoy!

9. The Mysterious Benedict Society

Fans of Roald Dahl and Lemony Snicket will love The Mysterious Benedict Society as much, if not more, than the novel it’s based on. Charming, quirky, and fun for the family.

Streaming on: Disney+

8. Girls5Eva

In this Tina Fey comedy, a one-hit-wonder girl group from the ’90s gets sampled by a young rapper and must reunite in their later years. Like 30 Rock meets Pitch Perfect.

Streaming on: Peacock

7. The Underground Railroad

A cinematic masterpiece, The Underground Railroad, is a beautiful yet heart-wrenching portrayal of antebellum America. Get ready to fill your soul. And cry. A lot.

Streaming on: Prime Video

6. Resident Alien

Alan Tudyk plays a crash-landed alien on Earth posing as a human doctor. So, basically the perfect role for Tudyk. Has some hiccups in its first season, but well worth the laughs.

Streaming on: SYFY

5. Hacks

Looking for a new adult comedy to latch onto? Look no further than Hacks. This fun and unique series, brought to you by Broad City alumni, is binge-watchable and surprisingly deep.

Streaming on: HBO Max

4. The Capture

Thrilling from start to finish, The Capture is as frightening as it is bite-sized. You’ll have no problems getting through this short 6 episode series and then you’ll be asking for more.

Streaming on: Peacock

3. Loki

Everybody’s favorite Marvel demigod is back, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. While there’s plenty of danger and mischief to be found, Loki is sure to show you a good time.

Streaming on: Disney+

2. Mare of Easttown

Small-town murder mystery and a web of secrets? Sign us up. Kate Winslet stars in this incredible miniseries that is arguably the best drama we’ve ever seen on HBO.

Streaming on: HBO Max

1. Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso is the cheerful, feel-good comedy we didn’t know we needed. Jason Sudeikis plays a college football coach hired to coach an English soccer team. Season one scored 20 Emmy nominations which is kind of a big deal. An absolute win.

Streaming on: Apple TV+
